Integrated Topographic, GNSS, Remote Sensing and GIS/WebGIS Techniques Applied to the Study of Aquileia River Port Structures
نویسندگان
چکیده
Integrated use of multidisciplinary researches have been applied in the last years for the study of Aquileia archeological sites and, in particular the River Port structures. Since 1992 GPS (Global Positioning System) techniques have been adopted with the aim of linking together various independent topographic networks and georeferencing single relevant points. In 2001 a scientific cooperation between different Institutions and national and international Research Centres has been established and renewed in 2006, in the framework of PICS 3064 CNRS Project. Different 3D topographic, geodetic, remote sensing, laser scanner and geophysical surveys have been performed and analyzed with the principal aim of reconstructing the ancient Aquileia landscape and, in particular, the integrated water system. GIS (Geographical Information System) and WebGIS applications have been implemented by researchers of GeoSNAV Laboratory, University of Trieste, joining all the data on a common cartographic basis, in order to enhance their sharing inside the scientific community.

Assessing Geomorphologic Changes of the Mehran River Delta using Remote Sensing and GIS (Bandar Lenga, Hormozgan Province)
Delta areas are dynamic features with changes occurring at many spatial and temporal scales due to catastrophic events. Change detection and providing a fluvial map of changes are the main requirements for environmental and zonal planners in many studies. Geomorphic changes such as temporal and periodic changes in riverbeds are common events in all delta areas. The Mehran river delta is located...
متن کاملEnvironmental sensitivity of flash flood hazard using geospatial techniques
Flash flood has been increasing in the Khartoum area, Sudan due to geographical conditions and climatic change as heavy rainfall and high temperature, therefore the present work tried to estimate the sensitivity of flash flood. The present work proposes an advanced technique of flood sensitivity mapping using the method of analytical hierarchy process. Ten factors as elevation, slope, distance ...
متن کاملFeasibility study on ecotourism potential areas using remote sensing and geographic information system (case study: abbasabad forest area, veresk, iran)
Ecotourism as the most attractive subset of the tourism industry can contribute to natural resource conservation and local development. Although great numbers of people annually visit Abbasabad area, in Veresk, Mazandaran, to enjoy its brilliant landscape and moderate ecologic condition, there is no applicable plan for many natural attractive zones in this area. As a result, some specific well ...
متن کاملGroundwater potentiality through Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) using remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS)
Nowadays the use of remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) is one of the most powerful cost effective tools to identify and discover the available groundwater resources. In this paper, Lithological Units, Lineaments, Slope, Topography, Drainage density, Vegetation and Isohyets lines have been achieved by stations and through remote sensing and GIS techniques. All layers of diffe...
متن کاملIntroducing Satellite Remote Sensing Systems and its Application in Archaeology Case Study: Behshahr Plain- Mazandaran
Human groups have considered the Behshahr plain of Mazandaran in the past Due to its particular geographical shape, location between the Caspian Sea and mountains, and the existence of some rivers in the region. However, our knowledge of this area is limited to several published surveys and archaeological investigation of its ancient sites. No detailed research has conducted on the formation of...
